The recorder is a great instrument to start learning music with and young children can easily make a sound very easily. The cost of a recorder is very cheap, which is an obvious bonus whilst you decide whether or not music is for him or her. Children can progress relatively easily to other wind instruments, or transfer their musical talents to any other instrument, if they wish to at a future date. However the recorder itself is a fantastic instrument and very adaptable with recorders of varying sizes.
I have taught recorder to grade 8 standard and taken a recorder orchestra through to national competition.
I teach from beginner to grade 8 standard and enter students for examination with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and Trinity. Examinations take place in Carlisle.
I can accompany my students and charge a set fee of £10.00 for this service.
Recorder lessons are on a weekly basis.
As a Fellow of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) I provide lessons under a contract which protects both the teacher and the student.
